One of my readers asked me this question:
Did you ever hear about MMS (miracle mineral solution)? It’s known to help significantly with a lot of diseases. Not sure about your son’s case but I think it’s worth a shot to look into.
I hadn’t heard of miracle mineral solution (MMS), but I decided to look into it. Essentially, it is chlorine dioxide, which has antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties (this is exactly what my son needs!). It is an approved food additive because it destroys Salmonella and E. coli. MMS is selective in what it will kill, leaving beneficial intestinal flora alone, while preferentially targetting bacteria, fungi and viruses that thrive in acidic environments and are positively charged. (You can read more about how it works here). Its use for healing diseases was discovered by Jim Humble by chance, when he was on an expedition in Central America and two members of the expedition became sick with malaria. He gave the individuals “stabilized oxygen” (which he used for water purification purposes) and they were well within hours. Over the years, he determined that it was chloride dioxide that healed the individuals. He later tested chlorine dioxide on 75,000 volunteers on five different continents and healed virtually everyone he treated, including individuals with malaria; AIDs; hepatitis A, B and C; cancer; diabetes; lupus; diabetes; and many other diseases. This story is accounted in Part 1 of Jim Humble’s book about MMS. MMS has also helped individuals with: asthma; weight loss; acne; dandruff; heartburn; insect bites; burns; cysts; insomnia; gingivitis; plantar warts; urinary tract infections; candida; constipation; herpes; heart disease; heavy metals; IBS; lyme disease; multiple sclerosis; sinus problems, etc. Advice about treating these illnesses and more can be found here.
I am a fan Dr. Klinghardt’s work, and was interested to note that part of his protocol for treating patients with chronic infections involves MMS.
A scientific study conducted in 1982 has shown that chlorine dioxide at a concentration of 5 mg/L is not toxic for human consumption. Interestingly, in addition to healthy subjects, they also tested a small group of individuals with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency (this is of particular interest to me as my son has this genetic condition, which makes one suspectible to oxidative stress), and these individuals also didn’t not show any ill effects after 12 weeks of daily consumption of 500 mL of 5 mg/L of chlorine dioxide. Note: 5 mg of chlorine dioxide is produced with 15 drops of 22.4% of sodium chlorite (MSS) plus the activator (i.e., citric acid).
Babies and children can also take it. The instructions for children (as well as adults can be found here). More details on instructions can be found in Part 2 of the book about MMS.
MMS is very affordable (about $20-25 for a year’s supply).
If all of this sounds too good to be true, it’s important to note that that Health Canada and the FDA have both issued warnings about MMS and advised their citizens to stop taking MMS. The warnings are related to healing reactions that may occur with the use of MMS, which can be minimized if you follow the instructions on how to use it (i.e., start with 1-2 drops and gradually increase to up to 15 drops twice a day, but cut back by 1-2 drops if you develop nausea, etc.). You can use your own discernment. One website noted that Health Canada issued their ban over one complaint and many suggest the complaint originated from a pharmaceutical company.

Bathing with MMS
Update (Feb 4, 2011): I have been taking this for the last 3 weeks. I got up to 10 drops and had quite a big detox reaction, so I’ve backed down (today, I only took one drop) and I’ll slowly make my way back up again.
March 11, 2011: I have been continuing to take MMS, but I haven’t been able to go beyond 6-7 drops before feeling nauseous. I do think that it is helping to detox my system, and I plan on continuing with it…
I’ve been noticing that a lot of individuals have been looking for information about whether MMS is safe for children. Since I feel that it is helping my son, I wanted to share our experiences with it.
On January 20, I started him on 1/2 drop a day for a couple of days, then 1 drop a day for a week, then 2 drops a day for a week, then 3 drops a day for a week, then 4 drops a day for a week, and then 5 drops a day for a week and a half. Based on his weight, the most I would give him is 5 drops a day (since the most you should give a child is 3 drops per 25 lbs).
Before I increased the dosage, I asked my intuition whether it was “safe” to do so. (I didn’t want him to have a healing reaction to it, which could involve diarrhea or nausea, like I’ve been getting). Happily, he has not had any negative reactions to it at all.
He has tolerated taking it well considering that it does not taste good! (I need to plug my nose to take it, even when it is in pineapple juice). I put it in pineapple juice (you need to make sure that the pineapple juice doesn’t have any added Vitamin C because added Vitamin C decreases its effectiveness).
Yesterday was the first time that he told me that the pineapple juice tastes yucky, so I’m going to have to drop the dosage back (or hide it in something like a smoothie, which is what I did today).
At around the 5 drops a day mark, my son’s skin on his back started to clear up. (His skin condition is related to a staph infection that is caused by his IgE levels). The skin on his back has never looked as good as it does now.
I’ve also been putting 20 drops of MMS into his bath. More info re: bathing with MMS here: http://jimhumble.biz/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=21&Itemid=41
In any case, I believe that MMS is a God-send, and I am thankful that it doesn’t kill beneficial intestinal flora (unlike pharmaceutical antibiotics). It also doesn’t breed superbugs because of the way that it works (my understanding is that it strips electrons from bacteria / viruses / fungi that thrive in acidic environments).
I have noticed that some individuals have been wondering if MMS can help with autism. In McCarthy and Kartizinel’s book, Healing and Preventing Autism, they have a whole chapter about how autism can be related to viruses, bacteria and fungi. If that’s the case with your child, then I definitely think that MMS can help with that aspect.
April 2, 2011: Both my son and I are on a maintenance dose of 3 drops a day. I never did get past the 6-7 drops mark, but I’m finding it unpalatable so I don’t want to try. I figure 3 drops a day is slowly detoxing my system and I don’t mind taking it at that dosage. My son needs to be on a long-term “antibiotic” due to his Job’s syndrom diagnosis, which is why I am continuing with 3 drops a day for him. Most children wouldn’t need to continue to take it longterm at that dose (for his weight, 5 drops would be the max recommended a day). He takes the 3 drops a day without any problem in some pineapple juice. His skin is currently looking the best that it’s looked in a long time.
November 13, 2011: Moses is still on a maintenance dose of 3 drops a day. I am now only taking it sporadically myself. We only just needed to purchase another set of bottles — the first small bottle lasted us for 9 months!!

I have been using MMS for 3 years and have not been ill once. My husband had antibiotic resistant infections and was not cured by doctors but with MMS. I only use 2 drops six hours or so apart and it stops all emerging infections.
I recently purchased a lifetime supply of the sodium chlorite and citric acid along with 2 others…it cost us $25 each. I am concerned it might be banned one day soon.
My daughter used it with her 1 year old with good results.
I never travel without it.
MMS was being used for malaria before Jim Humble discovered it and promoted it.
BTW…the nausea can be avoided by adding a pinch of salt to the mixture after adding juice….
Hi Cynthia: Where did you purchase the lifetime supply of sodium chlorite and citric acid?
Thanks so much for sharing your experiences with MMS, esp. with respect to your husband’s antibiotic resistant infections…. That helps me to hear that.

Hi Channa: Let me know how it goes with your son. Moses is still on 3 drops a day…
okay I found the MMS blog! yes today was an amazing day..my son was so very calm showing the mms had a very favorable reaction…i gave two drops four times today…
i also gave myself three drops four times today….i must say I am not a wimp but the stuff taste like poison and it makes me feel gross when i take it. not fun…
i think most people give up on the stuff before they get the results cuz it taste so darn BAD!
im not mixing it in juice because i want to make sure nothing interferes with its potency…
True — it tastes disgusting! We take it in pineapple juice. I take it in just a bit of pineapple juice with a dash of sea salt, which one of my blog readers (Cynthia) suggested, and I find that helps! I could never take it without juice! Glad to hear that your son did well today! How old is your son, by the way?
