Peanut butter balls
We tried a new recipe today. Peanut butter balls. (Yep, my boy can eat peanut butter, but not tree nuts). If you (or your child) is allergy to peanuts, you can use pea butter instead (a friend of mine has tried it with this recipe and it works just fine).
The original recipe can be found here.
We used:
1 cup of organic peanut butter
1 cup of GF oatmeal
1 cup of hemp hearts
1 cup of organic raisins
3/4 cup of maple syrup
1/2 cup of chia seeds
Some water to add some moisture
Mixed it all up and made up 2 cm balls. Refrigerate and then enjoy! Yum yum!
All three of us LOVED this recipe!! It’s heathy, protein-dense and not very sweet… Great for a healthy snack and dessert. This is one of the best allergy-free recipes that we’ve tried!
You can be very imaginative and use other ingredients, such as cranberries, sunflower seeds, flax seeds, coconut, nuts, protein powder, chocolate chips, dates.
